What is Bodaq Interior Film?
Bodaq is a 0.2 mm (8 mil) printed and embossed PVC film with an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive on the back. The face is printed with a wood, stone, metal, textile, or solid color visual and then embossed so the texture matches the print: a woodgrain carries the shallow open pores of real timber, a linen pattern carries the over-and-under of a weave. The adhesive side is cut with a fine grid of air-release channels, which is what lets an installer lay a full-height panel in one piece, lift it, reposition it, and squeegee it flat without blisters.
Hyundai L&C is a Korean building-materials manufacturer established in 1965. The Bodaq range is the interior-film line sold in North America, and the 2026-2027 catalog carries 468 patterns organized into 24 collections. Why resurface with film instead of replacing?
Replacement means tear-out, dumpsters, wet trades, new millwork lead times, and a space that is out of service for weeks. Bodaq keeps the substrate and changes only the surface. That single difference drives every advantage below.
Speed and zero downtime
An elevator cab is refinished overnight and back in service by morning, and a run of doors or cabinet fronts is measured in hours, not weeks. Because the process is dry (no adhesive slurry, no paint, no sanding dust), Bodaq is routinely installed on night shifts in occupied hotels, hospitals, offices, and multifamily buildings while the property keeps operating.
Real cost savings
Material is a fraction of the cost of new casework or stone, and labor is measured in hours rather than days. The bigger saving is usually the one that never hits the materials budget: lost revenue from a closed floor, a dark restaurant, or a guest room that cannot be sold. Film removes that line item almost entirely.

Sustainability by default
Keeping the substrate keeps it out of a landfill. Hyundai L&C publishes an Environmental Product Declaration for the film (global warming potential 1.96 kg CO2 eq. per square meter), the material carries the Korea Eco-Label and Healthy Building Material certification, and formaldehyde is not released. For projects tracking embodied carbon, resurfacing a door is a very different number from manufacturing and shipping a new one.

Fire rating: ASTM E84 Class A across the line
Every Bodaq interior film finish sold by Surface Supply is fire rated to ASTM E84 with a Class A result for US interior use. That includes the standard versions of each pattern, not only the finishes marked flame-retardant in the Korean catalog. The Korean 방염 (flame-retardant) marker refers to a separate, Korea-specific approval from the Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute; it is not the US fire rating and it does not tell you which patterns you can use on a US project. For US code purposes, the answer is all of them.
Test reports are issued per pattern series. When a project needs documentation, send us the pattern code (for example W949 or NS202) and the occupancy, and we will send the current ASTM E84 report with the pattern-code mapping for that series. Material content is published as well: cadmium, lead, mercury, and hexavalent chromium not detected (IEC 62321); PBBs and PBDEs below 5 mg/kg; phthalates below 50 mg/kg. Where Bodaq is used
Bodaq bonds to smooth, sealed interior substrates: painted or laminated MDF, sealed gypsum, metal, glass, and most rigid plastics. That covers nearly every hard surface in a commercial or residential interior.
- Hospitality. Guest-room doors and entry frames, wardrobe fronts, headboard walls, corridor wall panels, and elevator cabs refinished floor by floor without closing the hotel.
- Healthcare. Casework, patient-room doors, nurse stations, and corridor protection where the surface has to take daily disinfectant wipe-downs and still look like wood.
- Elevators. One of the most common Bodaq uses because a cab is done overnight. Compliance to ASME A17.1 and CSA B44 is recorded in the manufacturer's bulletin; confirm the pattern-specific documentation with your elevator contractor.
- Retail and restaurants. Fixtures, counters, feature walls, and column cladding refreshed between seasons or on a rebrand, with the store open the next morning.
- Offices and multifamily. Lobby desks, unit entry doors, kitchen and bath cabinetry in occupied apartments, and amenity spaces.
- Residential kitchens and baths. Cabinet refacing in a day, in Super Matt, Premium Wood, or Stone and Marble, at a fraction of the cost of new boxes.

Wood · 240+ finishes
The largest family. Standard Wood is the workhorse range for doors and casework. Origin Wood and Premium Wood carry deeper emboss and more figure for feature surfaces. Long Wood is printed for full-height planks with fewer repeats. Painted Wood and Premium Painted Wood reproduce lacquered joinery with the grain still visible, and Optical Grain Wood rounds out the family. Oak, walnut, ash, and every shade in between.
Solid color · 110+ finishes
Solid covers the full architectural palette in a uniform matte that resists scuffs and fingerprints far better than paint. Super Matt adds the ultra-low-sheen surface of contemporary European cabinetry, and Mono Blanc is the dedicated white collection. Stone and Marble covers the quieter marbles, granites, and stone textures that can carry a whole room. Premium Marble holds the strongly veined slabs specified for feature walls, reception fronts, and elevator lobbies. Premium Painted Concrete brings the concrete look to interiors without the weight. Metal · 25+ finishes
Real Metal has the directional brushed character of sheet metal and is specified for elevator interiors, feature bands, and trim. Velvet Metal is the softer, diffuse metallic for larger planes. Gold collects the warm metallic tones used on reveals and door frames. Metallics reflect along their brush direction and are the least forgiving of a poor substrate, so plan them for flat, well-prepared panels.

Natural Fabric, Soft Fabric, and Real Fabric range from a fine linen to a pronounced weave that catches light across the surface. Soft Leather reproduces leather grain for panelling and furniture faces. These are accent families, usually used on a headboard wall or a wardrobe front against quieter timber or solid surfaces.

How Bodaq is installed
Bodaq is a dry application. The adhesive is never wetted. A trained installer needs a felt-wrapped squeegee, a snap-off knife, a steel ruler, a heat gun for edges and three-dimensional work, isopropyl alcohol, and lint-free cloths.
- Clean and seal the substrate. Unsealed drywall, raw wood, and porous stone will not hold the adhesive reliably; prime them and let coatings cure fully.
- Work between 12 and 38 °C (54 and 100 °F). Cut the film with extra material for trim and to wrap the backs of doors and panels.
- Score a set line in the release liner, position the first band, then pull the liner in short sections and squeegee from the center outward so air leaves at the edges.
- Keep grain direction and production lot consistent across a seam. Double-cut flat seams; overlap on corners and 3D. Warm the film to conform around edges without overheating.
- Re-squeegee every edge and seam. Adhesive continues to build for 3 to 7 days; avoid heavy cleaning and edge picking during that window.

Every product page has an 8 in x 10 in sample of the exact finish. Color can vary slightly between print lots and between samples and production rolls, so we recommend confirming color and texture in the room, under the room's lighting, before committing to rolls.
Choose your roll
Bodaq ships on 48 in wide rolls in two lengths: 48 in x 82 ft (half roll) and 48 in x 164 ft (full roll, approximately 65 lb). Orders ship in 6 to 9 business days. If a project needs more than one roll of the same pattern, tell us at order time so the lot numbers match across your seams.

Is Bodaq fire rated?
Yes. Every Bodaq interior film finish sold by Surface Supply is rated ASTM E84 Class A for US interior use, including standard versions. Reports are issued per pattern series and we will send the one matching your pattern code on request.
How long does Bodaq last?
It is a 3H pencil-hardness surface that loses only 15.1 mg in a 1,000-cycle abrasion test, with stain resistance to coffee, wine, oil, and ethanol. Properly installed on a sealed substrate, Bodaq is a long-term interior finish, not a temporary graphic. It is a film, though, not a benchtop; specify it for vertical and light-use horizontal surfaces.
Can I install it myself?
Flat panels and cabinet fronts are within reach of a careful first-timer who reads the installation guide. Doors with returns, elevator cabs, and large seamed walls are jobs for a trained installer.
Is Bodaq removable?
Yes. Bodaq is removable, though it is designed as a long-term finish rather than a temporary one, so removal is a job rather than a peel.
Can Bodaq be used in a bathroom or kitchen?
Yes. Vanity surrounds, bathroom walls, and kitchen cabinetry are among the most common uses, on sealed substrates. Bodaq interior film is for interior use only and must not be exposed to open-air weather.
